Easy Cheeseburger Sliders
Serves : 6-8Comments: This recipe is really a starting point for your sliders. Make them as lean (or as fatty) as you like, use white or whole-wheat dinner rolls, top the sliders with whatever you enjoy, etc. In particular, this chipotle mayonnaise topping looks tasty, but maybe that's just because I have a weakness for chipotles in adobo.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef chuck (anywhere from 80% to 95% lean, depending on your taste)
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 8 dinner rolls, sliced in half (optionally lightly toasted)
- whatever toppings (mustard, mayo, ketchup, lettuce, onions, etc.) your heart desires
Instructions:
Divide ground beef as much as possible in 2-ounce balls. (It's hard to do this exactly, so you may get fewer than 8 balls.) Press each ball lightly to form 1/2-inch thick patties.
Place patties on a broiling pan, and season with salt and pepper. Broil about 2 to 3 minutes on one side, turn patties, season again with salt and pepper, and broil about 2 to 3 minutes more for medium-ish sliders. (Your broiler may obviously perform differently, so watch carefully and test for doneness.) Top each slider with a slice of cheese and broil until cheese melts, a minute or less. (Watch the sliders carefully!)
Serve sliders on rolls, top as desired, and enjoy immediately.
